Ever wondered "what is the difference between Commercial- Grade and Natural Soap??" We are happy to explain.

Commercial grade soap is typically mass-produced in a factory using harsh chemical-based detergents (think Sodium Lauryl Sulfate-SLS) known to strip the skin of valuable moisture. In addition, its Glycerin (a natural byproduct of soap) is extracted for other uses such as pharmaceuticals, contributing to further dryness of the skin. One of the most unfortunate realities that many people are unaware of or simply do not adhere to is that purchasing commercial-grade soap sends wealth outside of the local community where it is purchased (think Owners & CEOs of major corporations).

To the contrary, Natural soap is typically produced by hand using all-natural ingredients such as butters, oils and herbs which are known to to protect and nourish your skin. They are also typically produced in micro-batches for better concentration and care of delicate ingredients such as essential oils. One of the most beautiful things about natural soap is that the Glycerin (a natural humectant) it produces is retained, contributing to moisturization of the skin. Best of all, when you make the decision to purchase artisanal natural soap, you are supporting a neighborhood-level economy and workforce.

With that stated, the next time you think about purchasing commercial grade soap, think about your loved ones who may be in need of a job and decide to GO NATURAL! ;-)
